Scumbage America:

Scumbage America:

It seems as though some of the file uploading and sharing sites are either stopping their ability so share completely (as FileSonic and Fileshare have) or instead have chosen to just block people from the US from using their site. Funny thing is, this seems to be the solution.  Why not just block all the sites from America and let them have their silly laws to themselves.  This will probably be the last resort, but it’s better...

DRM a ‘Waste of Money’ – Paradox CEO

DRM a ‘Waste of Money’ – Paradox CEO

I have discussed at length the facts surrounding DRM - It offers nothing to gamers and only hurts the legitimate consumers being the biggest.  Lately Gabe Newell from Valve has stated that ‘Piracy is a service problem’ and now Fred Wester, CEO of Paradox (the people that brought you Magicka!) has reiterated these thoughts and has gone so far as to call DRM a ‘waste of money’. “I’m surprised that people...

Blizzcon will be released when its ready…

Just yesterday one of my friends and I were discussing what we think Blizzard could/would announce at this years Blizzcon.  Surely the World of Warcraft expansion ‘Mists of Pandaria would have to have been released by then.  Diablo 3 would most certainly have been released and would not be gearing up for an expansion by that time.  Heart of the Swarm, the next installment in the Starcraft 2 franchise, should be released prior to...

Ubisoft is using hardware-based DRM

Ubisoft is using hardware-based DRM

Remember back in the day when windows would detect hardware changes and assume that you were a dirty pirate and then use up one of you installations of XP?  Somebody at Ubisoft obviously didn’t learn any lessons watching this happen to Microsoft and the publisher is now doing the same with with games. This didn’t work for XP for several reasons, the biggest of which that bothered me was that due to Vista taking an absurdly long...
