There was an article a while ago that referenced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops would allow dedicated servers for all those PC gamers out there who like to run their own servers/communities and create mods.  I am glad that I didn’t have time to report on that rumor, because today I have learned that Black Ops *will* have dedicated servers, but AT A PRICE.

Yup, you read that correctly.  If you want to have a dedicated server to play Call of Duty: Black Ops you will have to rent one from GameServers.com who made a deal with the developer Treyarch and who else but those money grabbing assclowns at Activision.

Then again, everyone knows that the Treyarch CoD games suck and that Infinity Ward has been gutted since all the great talent that they had there took off after Activision screwed with their bonuses and fired the creators.

Remember when Bobby Kotick was talking about trying to monetize the multiplayer experience?  I wonder if this is what he was talking about.  GameServers.com charges the players and sends some of that money back home to Activision.

Hopefully this will all be hacked at some point and we will be able to play our games how and where we want.  Until then, BOYCOTTED!!
