It looks like the Social Media integration that Bobby Kotick wanted to add to the Call of Duty franchise is a paid monthly subscription service for stats, heatmaps and videos.  Basically everything that Bungie has been providing for free since Halo2 or what free mods for CounterStrike like psychostats have been doing for even longer.

Why anyone would pay for this I don’t know.  But I didnt think that consumers would pay for the same game every year for 60 bucks and cough up for 15 dollar map packs either.

Kotick says that he isn’t worried.  I wonder if he felt the same way when he was driving the Guitar Hero franchise into the ground.
