Extra-Life 2013

This November 2nd a few thousand friends and I are going to play video games for 25hrs straight for charity.

Why? To show that ‘gamers’ aren’t all lazy, self-absorbed people living in their mother’s basements? Nope – because kids should be able to be kids.

Kids shouldn’t have to worry about sorts of things like hospital visits; they should get time to be with their moms and dads, brothers and sisters, friends and schoolmates. Sadly, we don’t live in a world where all kids get to just be kids, and that sucks.

BC Children’s Hospital Foundation needs our help, so that they can help these kids be kids. Last year $35,000 was raised through Extra-Life for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation (triple the amount from the year before) and over 2 million was raised for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals worldwide.  BC Gamers are coming out in force this year to try to be the biggest fundraisers per capita and win a further $40,000 in donations provided by the Diablo III team at Blizzard Entertainment.
