I am a member of a mature gaming community that rose up around DayZ but is branching out into other games. This is a casual, no-commitment, environment that currently has a tight knit group of players and is looking to expand.

Here are some notes I made from watching some dev interviews and reading the WarZ forums. It may answer any of your questions that you might have.

I read a recent article on CNN Money, originally from Fortune, that states that PC game sales are up a whopping 230% and console game sales are down 28%. For us members of the glorious PC gaming master race this is not new news - consoles have been really lagging behind the last couple of years compared to PC games.

I kept hearing about DayZ on some of the gaming podcasts that I listen to and decided that I had to give it a try. Its part zombie apocalypse, part social experiment and all fun.

This year has just started, and already I have gone from no games to play (after burning out on Skyrim) to having a small pile of games and Betas that I want to spend my time on.  Looking at the releases that are coming out in 2012 there are way more games than anyone of sound mind would try to play all in one year – including several blockbuster titles.
